The logo for MicroAnalytix, a publisher of treatises on theoretical physics, demanded the understanding of some complex scientific principles. In
addition to needing a design that would work solely in black and white, MicroAnalytix wanted its mark to represent the resolution of paradox -- such as the duality of particles and waves in matter -- while leaving it to the viewer to unpack the subtlety of the meaning. Our solution combines the letters "MA" to create a wave, and uses a single point for the crossbar of the "A." This representation of both a particle and a wave resolves paradox and represents the company, while simultaneously giving the logo two-dimensional strength and three-dimensional depth.
